Introduction
Creating and laying out a recipe and nutrition website based in Ireland. This includes frequent updates to add recipes to the website with a lot of info and pictures. The process also needed a robust search and filtering system to be able to find relevant and wanted recipes.
Simon's Queries
Simon wanted to have a platform to showcase his recipes. he had trialled a website using blog features in wordpress but felt he could show his skills in better presented posts. I was able to understand what his needs were, as there were plans to further develop his website into a gateway to his online courses.
The Approach
First and foremost, a discussion around what were the needs and demographics Simon wanted to reach to. Then the process of identifying the tools and how to present them. It felt more appropriate in this instance to present the website in white and black as pictures of the recipes would pop with the vibrant colours they contained.
Favourites
Setting up a recipe blog website required a lot of redirection and linking. Also having blog posts for specific types of posts was important to show a difference in the structure. It was important to find the strongest and best tool to provide users the ability to filter and search recipes.
Testimonial from Simon
Naazim (Spipdesigns) designed and built my website. I was very happy with the visual results and the content structure and layout.
I think it’s important these days for websites both to look great and inviting and be clearly presented and easy to navigate, and that’s the result I got.
The website is also fast and responsive and load speeds are impressive, which I think is very important these days where attention is a precious resource.
People don’t want to spend time waiting on content to load.
